Current Fashion Fixation

As I'm sure most of you have noticed, high/low skirts and dresses have been all over the place recently! I'd really love to get a black bustier top that I can pair with one of my mom's old skirts. Here's a quick set I created in Polyvore of this fad:

Current Fashion Fixation

While this is not exactly something I would wear, I still consider room decor to have the potential to be fashionable. Therefore, my latest fashion fixation is the new comforter that I'm hoping to get for my dorm room next year. The one I currently have has ripped and the white didn't do so well in a social college room. This new one is the Sunset and Vines Woodland 6pc Comforter Set from Kohls and I absolutely love the way it looks! I also love that it comes in XL twin!

Wear the Rainbow

Some of you may have already seen the new O.P.I. Muppets collection out in stores now. The one pictured above, Rainbow Connection, my mom surprised me with when I came home for Thanksgiving! I just painted it on over O.P.I.'s Diva of Geneva and I really like it! It's perfect for the holidays and I can totally see myself wearing it year-round. It's fun to play around with layering the sparkles and confetti pieces. Personally, I like it thicker so that it looks like it does in the bottle. Next I'd like to try it on black nails. How would you wear it?

This week's obsession?? OPI Pink Shatter nail polish!! I know that just about everyone now has some sort of shatter or crackle nail polish, but OPI has recently released Pink of Hearts Shatter polish! I want it so bad!

Current Fashion Fixation

I always have a lengthy mental list of very specific wants/needs relating to the fashion industry going on at any given time. For instance, I currently want a crossbody bag and/or a vintage messenger bag. I want a pair of navy Keds and another really cute pair of heels or wedges. I also want a new jacket or dress or top. I'm currently dying for a pair of shorts that look like a skirt. Etc, etc... The list is nearly endless. But one very specific item I have my eyes on is the Trompe L'Oeil Pencil Case from Urban Outfitters. I really just need to buy it already, but being a college student with no job, I already spend too much money as it is.

La Tour Eiffel

I think I'm most excited about seeing the Eiffel Tower when I go to Europe!! I've loved the Eiffel Tower for a long time: it's incorporated in my art, my room design, clothing, etc.  I even have a pair of Eiffel Tower book ends. Here are a few other products (some odd) that manipulate the Eiffel Tower.

Right now, I'm currently looking at Eiffel Tower pillows, rugs, and even mousepads for my dorm room. If I get an awesome Eiffel Tower picture when I go to Paris, I'll probably turn that into a mousepad at Walmart.

Can you find any other interesting Eiffel Tower products??

Current Fashion Fixation

I’m sure everyone has heard about TOMS shoes. They give a new pair of shoes to a child in need every time you purchase a pair of their shoes. Well, a pair of TOMS has been on my wish list for quite some time now. They’re kind of like the new Chuck Taylors; people even wear them to prom! You can even buy the TOMS flag for $5 on their website: http://www.toms.com/. My favorites are the Natural Canvas Women’s Classic and the White Canvas Women’s Classic for $44 each. I’d love to get a pair that I could draw on, but I don’t think I’d have the heart to mark up a pair of TOMS. I also really like their Cordones and Botas. Thanks to weheartit.com for the images!

Current Fashion Fixation

It’s been a while since I last posted my current fashion fixation. Right now, I’m currently crushing on leather messenger bags. The one pictured above is a Mossimo Messenger Bag from Target. I’ve seen bags similar to this all over the place, from Urban Outfitters to J Peterman catalogs! Whether it’s sleak and symmetrical, like this one, or worn out, this is one obsession I share with the rest of the shops across America. Other handbag fixations I’m presently fixed on: crossbody bags in boho-indie prints and army green backpacks. Definitely adorable!

Current Fashion Fixation (2/26/11)

Well my dears, I think it’s about time to share another fashion fixation of mine. The St. Jude Bracelet, pictured below, is a piece of jewelry I’ve wanted for almost two years, but finally ordered for myself online today! In case you don’t recognize this lovely bracelet, Kristen Stewart wears this exact accessory in The Twilight Saga movies where she plays Bella Swan. This is the main reason for my obsession with the St. Jude Bracelet, but I’ve also seen it elsewhere. For instance, I believe I’ve seen it in the show My Life As Liz, and it’s also been spotted on Miley Cyrus’ wrist. Though I’m not a Miley fan, I do get a lot of inspiration for what I wear from my favorite shows and movies.

What movies inspire your wardrobe?

Current Fashion Fixation (2/12/11)

So usually I admire the slouchy Converse brand purses I can find at Target for less than $30, but lately I’ve noticed how much everyone adores Rebecca Minkoff clutches, so obviously I had to take a look. I usually don’t like designer brands because you pay a ridiculous amount for something that I don’t think is all that great a lot of the time, but this is different. Rebecca Minkoff has some really great clutches and handbags that are really stylish. And though I will most likely never pay that much for anything in my closet, even a prom dress, I find that these designs would better serve as inspiration for those of us with a microscopic budget. So get inspired!
This 5-Zip Clutch comes in black and persimmon and costs $330:

I also like the MAC Clutch, the Main Squeeze Foldover, and the 3-Zip Rocker!

Current Fashion Fixation (2/3/11)

I’ve decided that every once in a while, I will post what fashion item I am currently obsessing over. Today’s fascination: Katy Perry’s Black Shatter nail polish by O.P.I. I want it so bad, but the trick is getting out to the mall when there’s at least a foot of snow outside! Oh well, I’ll guess I’ll have to wait. But what I love about this nail polish, besides the fact that O.P.I. is amazing, is that the final look is very cool and very edgy. I love using nail pens, but I can see this as being a much easier way to get dark, artsy looking nails.
