Peanut Butter Eiffel Towers

While I was searching for an Eiffel Tower cookie cutter, I came across this Eiffel Tower chocolate mold from CybrTrayd on Amazon. Right away, I thought peanut butter suckers would be amazing!

I used two packages of Reese's Peanut Butter Chips to yield 15 pops. I bought "cookie sticks" at Michael's craft store in a pack of 20.

To melt the chips, I placed a metal bowl of chips inside a pan of heated water and left the burner on low.

Then after filling the mold and adding the sucker sticks, I stuck the mold in the freezer for about five minutes or until they were solidified.

Then I popped the suckers out and placed them on wax paper before making some more.

I'm sure they'll be a hit with my friends when I move back to campus on Wednesday!

Peanut Butter!

Here's another recipe I found on Pinterest! Yum!

Easy "Healthy" Peanut Butter Cookies
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 TSP baking soda
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together peanut butter and sugar. Add egg and baking soda. Bake 10 minutes (You should probably check after 10 minutes and add some time. I don't think my cookies baked long enough).

Turnover Blues

I wanted something sweet tonight but I had nothing to make. I looked around the kitchen and noticed that we had crescent rolls and frozen blueberries. Score!

Mini Blueberry Turnovers

  • Can of Pillsbury crescent rolls
  • Fresh or frozen blueberries
  • Confectioners sugar
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Roll out each crescent roll, place blueberries on the wide end, sprinkle with sugar, and roll up, pinching the ends. Spread out on a cookie sheet and bake for about 12 minutes. Sprinkle with more sugar when done. (You can also drizzle frosting over the top.)

Caramel Frapp

I saw this recipe on Pinterest and thought I'd try it. It only requires ingredients we already have! You can find the original recipe here.

Starbucks Frappuccino Recipe
  • 5 cups of fresh coffee
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Caramel Macchiato cream
Mix all of the ingredients together and refrigerate. Add ice, whipped cream, chocolate syrup or whatever you like and enjoy!

Sweet & Salty

Considering my house is trying to lose weight, I really shouldn't be baking, but today I was feeling productive and therefore, I made chocolate chip cookies.

I always use the recipe on the back of the Nestle Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips package (minus the nuts) and replace the butter with Crisco. But today, I decided to add a little something salty to each cookie... pretzels and potato chips!

Just press a pretzel or chip pieces onto the top of the ball of dough before you bake- Easy!

I Love Mt Dew

So I originally saw this idea about how to make Mt Dew Cupcakes from All Things Cupcake... but then I found a simpler recipe on The Geeky Hostess.

For the cupcake, all you have to do is get a box of yellow cake mix and follow the directions, replacing the cup of water with 12oz of Mountain Dew. I used Diet Mountain Dew, because that's what we always keep around in our house. My family is kind of obsessed with it.

For the frosting, I just followed the recipe from The Geeky Hostess, using a few drops of green and yellow food dye (the yellow makes it brighter). Then I took a large Ziploc bag, cut the corner, put a frosting tip inside it, and then added the frosting into the bag to frost the cupcakes with (just don't put a rubber band around the tip like I originally did).

They actually taste pretty good and everyone in my family enjoyed them!

White Chocolate Oreo Brownies

I've been in a baking mood all week now that I'm back from college. Unfortunately, we haven't had supplies in the house to make any of the amazing treats I've been "pinning" lately. Tonight I decided to finally make the boxed brownies we had in the cupboard and realized that we had a few things I could use to make them special.

I made White Chocolate Oreo Brownies using melted white chocolate chips and crushed Oreos that I added on top once the brownies had baked. Sadly my brother is a very picky eater, so I could only make half of the pan with white chocolate and Oreos.

Egg-celent Recipes

Happy Easter everyone!! Every year for Easter, my family decorates eggs with Sharpies and egg dye. Here are the eggs I made this year. I tried to make a Charmander from Pokemon because my boyfriend feels that I missed out by not playing Pokemon as a kid, so he's making me play it now, but it didn't turn out exactly how I wanted. The egg on the left is from Angry Birds and the third full egg in is Batman! The egg to the right has another face on the other side...

A close friend of mine at Central is having relationship troubles so we all decided to bake something this weekend to bring back to school. I decided to try out a new recipe I got from the blog Picky Palate. They're Oreo and Peanut Butter Brownie Cakes. Scroll down to see the process or click the blog link for the recipe.

I also decided to make Funfetti Cookies to take back with me because they're alway such a hit! For the recipe, just buy the Funfetti Cake Mix (not the Funfetti Cookie Mix) and some Funfetti frosting. The cookie recipe is on the side of the box. I can usually get close to three dozen cookies out of the box, but I only got 30 this time. Another note: I usually put them in for a little over the minimum time limit; they're going to look like they're not done, but the bottom usually browns pretty quickly! I also tried out coloring the frosting this time so that they're more Easter-ish!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend!!

Bars of Awesome-ness

Today I decided to try out a recipe I found on a blog called Kevin & Amanda. A recipe for Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie 'n Oreo Fudge Brownie Bars! Sound amazing... I know!

Photo from Kevin & Amanda

When I made them, I used the chocolate chip cookie dough recipe on the back of the Nestle Chocolate Chips package (replacing butter with Crisco) and used Betty Crocker Fudge Brownie batter. I think they turned out pretty good! Yum!
